Den. nobile is the species from which all Nobile hybrids derive. It comes from an area where the weather goes from monsoon to desert each year. It is reported to survive temperature ranges in nature from zero to over 100 F. So, grow it very wet in the summer with lots of fertilizer, then stop fertilizer and reduce watering in the winter. (After August).Too much Nitrogen reduces the number of flowers and grows keiki instead. The photo is a very old large plant with normal coloration. The ones we are offering now are the white alba form. These plants are about 18-inches in length.
