Originally found as a color sport from a group of gold plants, this variety is a dark burnt orange with a red lip. Easily one of the prettiest of all the Catasetum. Like all Catasetum it is deciduous losing all its leaves and appearing dead throughout the winter. During dormancy they should have very restricted water from none to barely enough to keep the bulbs from shriveling.
