This is a hybrid of the popular Octopus orchid flower Psh. cochleata. The form of the flower is the same but the color changes from a light green to almost black. It is a welcome addition for anyone like me that always liked the form of the Psh. cochleata flower. This plant is a miniature seldom getting over 5 inches tall. These are listed with the 4" pots of Cattleya since the age and maturity of the plant is equal. We prefer to grow these in 2–3-inch pots. They do better, like most Cattleya & hybrids, in the smallest pot in which they can fit.
