Castecetum are perennial bulbs. They need to flower every year to reproduce making them one of the most reliable orchids for hobbyist to flower. The leaves will die every year and then grow a new bulb each season. Our plants flowered for two years like the photo, then the growing conditions in our greenhouse have made all ours flower BLACK with a yellow center. Water, sunlight, fertilizer, humidity, air circulation and other growing conditions can change the color of an orchid within certain limits.
