The correct ID is Myrmecatavola (Mcv). Frances Fox. It is a cross of Brassocattleya (Bc) Polka Dot and Myrmecophila (Mcp) tibicinis. The reddish variety is the one that I always have in stock. You will sometimes see it in yellow. It is interesting in that Myrmecophila tibicinis can accept 100% sunlight in Florida all day long. In fact it will not flower in my greenhouse and needs to be grown on the outside of my greenhouse. Frances fox takes after the Bc parent and needs normal Cattleya light. Leaves turn slightly spotted and darker when in higher light. While these plants are listed with the 4-inch pots, we find they grow better in smaller pots. We ship in 3-inch pots with leaves about 10-inches high.
