Skinnerii was classified in the past as a Cattleya. It was renamed Gurianthe when the cattleya group was broken in several smaller sub-families. Gur. skinnerii 'Heiti Jacobs' AM/AOS' is an awarded plant that was awarded for larger and brighter colored flowers than normal skinerii.
